Historical background

Maholnap Foundation is the legal successor of the Co-operating Netherlands Foundations. Its independent experts and members of the Advisory Board, our transparent, accountable, objective evaluation procedure serves as guarantee for our transparent and accountable grant-making activity. Between 1991 and 2002, the Co-operating Netherlands Foundations and Maholnap Foundation supported about 300 foundations, with a total of 8 million Euros (2 billion Forints).

The 2 billion HUF in direct aid facilitated local sponsors - companies, individuals and local governments - to invest three times this amount to implement social projects. The projects helped approximately four thousand families, and we were able to improve the living standards of twenty-four thousand people.

Field of Activity

Our foundation promotes innovative civil initiatives with social content, which strengthen the solidarity and mutual responsibility of the local community, as well as helps disadvantaged individuals and groups to have equal opportunity.

Beyond this Maholnap promotes professionally and financially the realization of the objectives of civil organizations, in case the operation of the organization is ensured in the long run, and their objectives are in harmony with the criteria of the Grant-making Policy of Maholnap Foundation.

Maholnap Foundation mainly supports investments and purchase equipment supply in a considerable amount. From 15 February 2003 on* -based on a needs-assessment survey- it also helps programs with a preventive, integrative and rehabilitative aim, cultural and sport programs, as well as building volunteer-network helping the elderly and the socially disadvantaged.
