Maholnap Foundation supports innovative civilian initiatives with social content that strengthen solidarity and mutual responsibility of the local community, as well as helping disadvantaged individuals and groups to have equality of opportunity effectuated. Our foundation supports professionally and financially the accomplishment of the objectives of civil organizations, their improvement and feasibility.

Activity promoted by Maholnap Foundation helps people who are in a disadvantaged position due to their age, state of health, social situation, ethnic or religious affiliation and therefore are in need of help or need added support to survive.

Within the range of activities above, it promotes the investment or acquisition of implements and projects of such organizations that meet the criteria outlined in the Grant-making Policy of Maholnap Foundation.

Supported objectives of Maholnap Foundation are further supplemented with others from January 2003 onwards. It also promotes innovative-type educational training, cultural, personality-development and sports programmes that carry out objectives of prevention, rehabilitation and integration.

Initiatives aimed at prevention are programmes that help prevent juvenile crime and addiction (drugs, smoking, alcohol and other harmful dependencies) from developing among disadvantaged or endangered children and young people.

Initiatives aimed at integration are such programmes, in which handicapped children, Romani children or other disadvantaged groups become integrated with young people from the wider community. The physical, psychological, mental development of the target group, is of paramount importance so is the task of resolving tension between the various sections of society.

Initiatives aimed at rehabilitation are projects that help people, who are disadvantaged, permanently jobless, homeless, are prostitutes or those released from prison. We aim to integrate these people back into society.

Initiatives aimed at developing voluntarism comply with the Maholnap's criteria if the project helped to allay the feeling of loneliness and isolation of the elderly, the ill, the handicapped, the dying, the homeless and those socially disadvantaged, as well as helping them get involved in community life.
