Complying with the past 11 years' practice, the Maholnap Hungarian Welfare Foundation promotes the launch and accomplishment of model programmes concerning social, educational, training, health, Romani and handicapped issues, thus helping the development of the civil sector. It puts great emphasis on the promotion and accomplishment of civil social initiatives, launched in support of disadvantaged groups, but is not intended as a substitute for the tasks of the state, local governments or the church.  From January 2003 it supports educational, cultural and sports projects aimed at prevention, integration and rehabilitation.
