Acknowledgements

The Netherlands and Hungary greatly appreciate the outstanding role that Thomas van der Ven, the East-European co-ordinator of the Co-operating Netherlands Foundation, and Kálmán Szabó, the Managing Director of the Hungarian Advisory Board of CNF have played in promoting the development of the Hungarian civil society. The Maholnap Foundation aims to continue this tradition of philanthropic activity in Hungary.

Besides material support, other important elements of our activity are professional consulting and developing standards. Therefore we co-operate with other similar organisations in the Central and Eastern Europe, as well as state and governmental organisations in the region.

We consider it very important to raise the funds required for small organisations to implement their projects, as well as to mediate the distribution of our financial resources. We continuously monitor the implementation of civil programs and their finances in order to ensure the successful implementation of high quality projects.
