The foundation was established in June 1, 2000. Its aim is to provide conditions for Christian-minded community life. The local church was built in 1975 almost exclusively by the labour of the community's volunteers. Today's community evolving from the church builders, is open to all good-willed people. They recruit young people, families and pensioners to create small communities.

In 1997 they decided to build a new community house to fit their needs. At that time their financial resources were very limited but common will, cooperation and faith in this good cause spurred them on to great effect.

Backed by financial support of the local government they purchased an old family-house, which they then demolished. It took 1100 working hours of volunteers. In the summer of 2000, TÉKA Foundation was established and applications were submitted to foreign and national organizations for financial support.

The first serious result came from an application invited by the Cooperating Netherlands Foundations, the founder of the Maholnap Foundation. In October 2001, they were informed about having received a support worth 145.000 NLG. Since then - not least under its influence - positive decisions appeared one after the other. Thanks to this, by October 2002, the building of the Community House was complete, and in March 2003 it was ready to launch its first programmes.
